MEET THE ARTIST

Richard Jones III, popularly known as RLJ3, has harbored an unwavering love for the world of sequential arts. In 1999, he embarked on his creative journey by crafting an independent comic book series called Night Demon, all the while engrossed in illustrating diverse titles and participating in numerous events. Richard’s unwavering dedication to his craft led him to attend local illustration classes alongside accomplished comic book industry artists, as well as anatomy courses and Saturday drawing sessions at CCAD in Columbus, Ohio.

Recognizing an impending decline in the comic book industry, he redirected his focus toward graphic design. Lacking formal college education and the means to pursue a degree, Richard sought guidance from friends and seasoned professionals in the field, which ultimately granted him a position at a local magazine publisher.

Following his fruitful collaborations with various local and national publishing companies, Richard ventured into the realm of music. His exceptional talent shone brightly as he worked alongside esteemed bands like Fear Factory, Static-X, and Motograter, earning him multiple accolades for his exceptional album designs, apparel creations, and web designs. With over two decades of experience in the Design and Marketing domain, Richard has acquired profound knowledge and an extensive toolkit, priming him for a triumphant return to the comic industry.

Presently, Richard is immersed in the world of ink as he contributes to a local publication named Prowl alongside Adam Fields, while also working on The Dead Among Us published by Second Sight Studios. Notably, he recently completed the coloring for a book entitled Constantine’s Bane, published by Antarctic Press. In addition, RLJ3 is devotedly developing his own intellectual property, Mora, which is scheduled for completion in mid-2021. Richard’s professional portfolio continues to expand as he fervently pursues his aspirations of establishing a prominent career in the comic book realm. The unwavering support of his loving wife, children, friends, and family has ignited a fervent passion within him, propelling him toward an exhilarating future.
